About Rachel -
“Winkle Picker began in 2019. I’d cooked on traditional sailing boats up on the West Coast of
Scotland and the Outer Hebrides and really got the seafood bug up there. Buying the most
beautiful seafood often directly off the fishing boats. In 2011 I returned to Bristol. I worked for a
couple of years at Wallfish Bistro, sadly no longer open and also ran a monthly supper club from
my home Clandesdiner which I never restarted after the pandemic. Before cooking I was a props
buyer and a stage manager. I’ve always loved theatre, circus, fairground and the seaside which
kind of makes sense of my seafood caravan, Treacle, which reflects all of these loves.”
